ROPE BONDAGE WORKSHOP

This is a workshop for anyone who’s ever wanted to be able to tie their partner up with skill and elegance. It’s a workshop for anyone who’s seen beautiful Japanese-style rope bondage adorning the human body, and wants to learn how to do it.

The workshop will be run by RodM, whom you’ll also have a chance to see in action as a rope rigger, with rope bunnies Boykitten and Poisonpixie, at the Halloween Ball on Friday.

The workshop will include

safety with rope
what rope to use
where to buy rope
tying for restraint: single column ties
tying for restraint: double column ties
Japanese ropework including shinju and karada

If you’re keen to learn, but can’t bring a partner with you to practice on, we’ll be providing a number of people who’re happy to let you practice on them. Please be sure to indicate, when you contact us to sign up for the workshop, that you’d like us to provide a ‘rope bunny’ for you.

If you don’t have rope of your own, we’ll have some to lend you. If you have your own rope, bring it with you; we’ll be working with one length of 35ft (10.6m) and one of 15ft (4.5m).

The workshop will be intensively ‘hands-on’. By the end of the session you’ll come away with the ability to carry out the ties taught, competently and elegantly, and with a broad understanding of how rope works, which will allow you to carry on experimenting and developing your skills.

The maximum size of the workshjop will be 12 'students'.

RodM is an Australian photographer and rigger living and working in Cambridge. His photographic work has been shown at the Seattle Erotic Art Festival, the Dirty Show in Detroit, and at CCK in London, as well as in Cambridge and Norwich. As a rigger he’s taught all over the UK, including the Peer Workshop, Leicester Pervery and the Norwich Munch.
