POLE DANCING WORKSHOP

Date: Sat 1st Nov : 11:30-13:30
Venue: Subculture
Pole dancing is a fun way to get fit, and a great way to learn how to express yourself and gain confidence. Pole workshops are fitness and dance based sessions, run by an experienced and qualified instructor, using high quality x-poles.

You will start with an introduction and demonstration dance from your teacher, followed by a gentle aerobic warm up. Once on the poles, you will be guided through various tricks, spins and dance moves; which will culminate in the learning of a choreographed routine, by the end of the session. There will then be a cool down stretch and some time to take photos of yourselves on the pole.

The workshop is aimed at beginners with no prior experience of pole dancing. All levels of ability can be catered for and no-one will have to do anything on their own at any time.

All you need to bring for the session are: clothes you can exercise in (bare thighs are best for gripping the pole during spins and climbs, so shorts or a beach skirt are recommended), trainers or ballet pumps for the warm up and heels or boots to dance in.

Tutor: Sally Steel
Sally is 31, a qualified fitness instructor, and has been pole dancing for four years, performing and teaching. Sally runs pole classes in Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.
